Regan is a registered Occupational Therapist who is passionate about enabling clients to achieve their occupational goals! Aside from providing individual OT services across the lifespan and group therapy for children at Davis OT, she works as an Occupational Therapist at St. Michael’s Hospital where she helps adults with severe and persistent mental health conditions live safely in their communities and participate fully in their daily activities. Her treatment approach is client-centered and evidence-based, and she incorporates her love of nature into the therapeutic process.

Heather has been a registered social worker since 2005, completing her BSW from the University of Victoria and her MSW from York University. Over the years Heather has worked in a variety of settings, working with people utilizing trauma informed, strengths based and client centred approaches. It is important to Heather to create a safe, inclusive, identity affirming space for people, bringing anti-oppressive awareness to herself and her work. Heather is passionate about being present and hearing people’s stories, with understanding and compassion as they make sense of themselves, their relationships and the world. Heather provides individual and group psychotherapy to people 17+ using a combination of DBT, ACT, CBT, Mindfulness and EFT modalities.

Heather was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and in recent years while working with adults identifying with ADHD has begun to focus her practice on supporting people navigating a neurotypical world, uncovering their strengths and coping with their challenges. Heather finds nature to be a great resource for grounding, connecting and healing and is excited to work with the clients and staff of Davis OT.

Emily recently completed a Master’s of Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto, during which she took part in a placement with Davis Occupational Therapy. From having both studied the literature on nature-based therapy and having experienced the restorative effects of nature throughout her own life, Emily is passionate about the therapeutic potential of nature based-therapy among children, as well as among adult populations. Emily has experience working with both age groups, as she developed and facilitated a nature-based mindfulness program for adults with ADHD and facilitated one-on-one and group nature-based therapy with children at Davis Occupational Therapy. As a practicing OT, Emily is excited to collaborate with clients of all ages to harness the power of nature in their journey to achieving their goals and establishing greater health and wellbeing.

Alanna is a registered Occupational Therapist with over 18 years experience working in world renowned hospitals, cancer centres and rehabilitation facilities. She specializes in working with adults recovering from concussion, brain injury or those presenting with a new diagnosis of ADHD. She is proficient in navigating return to work, long and short term disability, workplace accommodations, human rights legislation and the Employer’s Duty to Accommodate. Emma is a registered Occupational Therapist who is passionate about building inclusive spaces where every child can engage in meaningful participation. She loves combining her love of OT with her love of nature; in her free time Emma loves to hike, run outdoors, ski, and do anything near the water!

Emma also works as an OT and dance instructor with The Dance Ability Movement, where she supports accessible dance classes for dancers of all abilities. Emma has experience working as an OT in the school system, child care centres, and private paediatrics.

Emma is a certified Powerfully You Provider. Powerfully You is a self regulation curriculum created by OTs that focuses on empowering children to tune into their bodies, build self-compassion, and promote healthy regulation skills. Emma loves bringing this curriculum into nature in both 1:1 and group settings!

Kristina is a registered Occupational Therapist who is passionate about mixing her love for being creative, being in nature, and helping her clients reach their goals! Outside of her role in the Nature OT in the City Group program, Kristina works as an Occupational therapist at Nova’s Ark Charity, where she gets to mix the therapeutic benefits of play, the outdoors and animals in her work with kids, teens and adults!

In the past few years of practice, Kristina has had the opportunity to expand on her nature therapy knowledge in attending the Grounded to Grow Nature Retreat in Chicago, learning from other nature based OTs. She has been part of research around mental health within Occupational Therapy and believes strongly in addressing mental health with clients of all ages AND their families. She has explored a variety of different courses regarding autism, anxiety, emotional regulation, motivational interviewing, and much more, and is always learning! Kristina has also started our parent “Campfire chats”, which allow the parents of Larchwood to connect with each other and work through challenges together facilitated by an OT. Kayla completed her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in Glasgow, Scotland. Kayla’s career mission is to provide meaning to an individual’s life through community engagement, recreational activities, and engaging occupations. She is excited to begin to use nature-based therapy to help her clients explore the above-mentioned areas in their life. Her experience working as an outdoor educator and tree planter has provided her with resilience, perseverance, and experience in the use of nature as a form of therapy. Kayla is also working in a pediatric occupational therapy clinic helping children overcome sensory issues as well as improving fine and gross motor skills. She has growing experience assessing and treating adults recovering from brain injuries or living with ADHD. During her free time Kayla enjoys going on epic back country camping trips with friends and family, exploring new areas, doing yoga, and reading. Kayla looks forward to using nature-based therapy to provide a positive therapeutic environment.
